Visa-Free Options

144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If you're transiting through Beijing to a third country, you may qualify for 144-hour (6-day) visa-free entry. Requirements:

• Hold a valid passport from one of 54 eligible countries (US included)
• Have a confirmed onward ticket to a third country/region within 144 hours
• Enter and exit through designated ports in Beijing
• Stay within the permitted area (Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province)

This is perfect for a short Beijing trip! Many of our guests use this option for a 3-5 day Beijing visit.

China's New Visa-Free Policy (2024-2026)

China has expanded visa-free entry for several countries. Check the latest policies at your nearest Chinese embassy, as these rules change frequently.

Tourist Visa (L Visa) Application

Required Documents

1. Passport — Valid for 6+ months with 2+ blank pages
2. Visa application form — Completed online at cvasc.com
3. Passport photo — Recent, white background, 33mm x 48mm
4. Flight itinerary — Round-trip booking confirmation
5. Hotel reservation — For the duration of your stay
6. Invitation letter — From a Chinese tour company or hotel (we can provide this!)

Application Process

1. Complete the online application at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center
2. Schedule an appointment at your nearest CVASC office
3. Submit documents and biometrics in person
4. Wait 4-7 business days for processing
5. Pick up your passport with visa or have it mailed
